"Jackson’s photographs are, however, authentic in one sense; the lookalike actors really exist at themoment the shutter clicks, but the viewer prefers to see them on the screen or in print as authenticcelebrities. The photographs reflect what really exists in the public imagination. They highlight thedifference between what we see and what we imagine.We are driven by our inherent greedy voyeurism and our need to believe in simple truths to accept theimage’s violent demands."
